Senior Software Developer – Remote – Canada

RENTALL is looking to hire a talented and experienced Senior Software Developer to join our growing team in Canada!

Our small but dynamic company is looking to expand our team with a Senior Software Engineer proficient in Progress. We specialize in developing powerful and easy-to-use software solutions for the car rental industry and offer a role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, small team environment and is prepared to make a significant impact on our product development.

What your day will look like:

• Design, develop, and maintain our car rental software platform using the Progress 4GL language and tools
• Collaborate with our lead engineer to develop this complex system
• Work together to understand requirements, propose solutions, and implement new features
• Operate independently with minimal supervision in a fully remote setting in Canada
• Communicate effectively with team members across the company
• Engage with the team to design and develop best-in-class features
• Collaborate with cross-functional peers as we productize your work
• Innovate as you research new technologies and resolve complex problems
• Construct and contribute to major project high-level design strategy
• Help the team to define the roadmap and make decisions

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related industry experience
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in the Progress 4GL ABL is essential 
• Demonstrated experience in managing and contributing to large-scale systems and extensive codebases
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative remote environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of the car rental industry is a plus
• Experience with C# and .NET are beneficial
• Experience in migrating code from Progress to other hosted platforms is a plus
• Knowledge of Progress Application Server (PAS) for OpenEdge
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Exposure to cloud services and architecture
• Fluent in English both written and verbal is essential
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
