Senior Web Frontend Developer – Hybrid – Hilversum

We are hiring at M&I for a Senior Web Frontend Developer to join our team! 

We are open to candidates who want to work full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (32 or 36 hours per week).

Together with the development team, you’ll be working on software that is used by the makers of several programs you hear and see daily. Your work will be very diverse, as you won’t be working on just one task or project. You will also have a system architect role for one of our products and where needed assist our support engineers when needed. As you know all the latest tips, tricks and developments in interface and web development, your knowledge contributes to making our products even better.

Here is a little window into our company: M&I Broadcast Services is looking for a Senior Web Frontend Developer. As Web Frontend Developer at M&I, you will be responsible for creating mission critical web applications in React, for Nimbus and OmniPlayer, you will also guide a junior developer. These applications are used by practically all major regional and national radio and television broadcasters in the Netherlands and beyond.

The selected candidate will be working in a hybrid setting, combining remote work and in-office.

What your day will look like:

• Develop and maintain web applications using React, JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Utilize REST APIs for data retrieval and presentation within the application.
• Use Git and GitLab for version control and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Implement rigorous testing procedures to ensure the application's reliability and performance.

About You:

• Have 5+ years of experience working with React and a track record of building web applications.
• You have an analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
• A solid background in JavaScript (ES6), Node.js and HTML5.
• Familiarity with responsive web design and modern CSS practices.
• Experience in UI development using Bootstrap and Tailwind CSS.
• A good grasp of REST APIs and data integration.
• Proficiency in version control using Git and GitLab.
• Have great communication skills, both spoken and in writing and think it is important to share knowledge.
• Know everything about the latest trends and developments in web Frontend Development.
• Look beyond your specialty or work field and know how to be critical.
• Comfortable looking at and working with code of in-house created back-end services, classes and modules.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in developing mission critical applications.
• Familiarity with state management libraries like Redux.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, particularly in GitLab.
• Knowledge of tools like Git, NPM, Webpack, Lerna and SASS.
• Knowledge of C# and Node.js.
• Experience in backend development or able to read backend code.
• Affinity with the media or broadcasting industry.
• Optional DevOps experience with k8s and Azure.
• Familiarity with OAuth protocol and jwt.
