Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on System Administrator to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize our existing IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Windows Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Linux, and Oracle, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical business systems. Experience with AWS networking is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Manage and maintain Linux-based servers, including patching, scripting, and performance tuning.
  • Support and optimize Oracle databases and related infrastructure, ensuring high availability and efficiency.
  • Perform proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across all systems.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices for Windows, Linux, and Oracle environments.
  • Manage AWS networking configurations, including VPCs, security groups, and connectivity.
  • Assist in system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of all infrastructure components.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate or provide proof of a high level of competence and real-world experience in most of the following:

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator in a hands-on role.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server administration, particularly Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
  • Proficiency in Linux administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu, or CentOS preferred).
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting Oracle databases and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with AWS networking (VPC, Route 53, security groups, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong scripting abilities in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and proactive system management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Identity Management.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies.
