Job Summary
Our company is looking for a Software Development Resource Manager to oversee our development team. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science, and experience in the field. In this role, you will act as the liaison between your team and upper management. You should be skilled in different programming languages and frameworks, including HTML, SQL, Java, and JavaScript, .Net, ect.. You should also be familiar with both database and application development.
Responsibilities
- You will have the responsibility for line management of team members, working alongside others across our organization to understand and meet current and forecast demand, and the associated competence requirements needed, as well as ensuring that development and training needs are met.
- You will be helping to deliver our software development strategy across the company working jointly with our subsidiaries, on Platform, Solutions and Technology Architecture teams, primarily by helping to identify and especially remove impediments impacting the team’s ability to deliver.
- Partner with leadership team members to deliver reliable and efficient daily operating processes and capabilities.
- Create and manage a culture of continuous improvement and change across the engineering teams through regular review and communication of processes and procedures.
- Manage relationships with subsidiary managers and onshore SMEs to promote knowledge sharing.
- Provide meaningful feedback on staff performance and input to staff development plans.
Requirements
- Excellent people leadership skills coupled with experience in competence development, crafting an environment that gets the best out of people and teams.
- 2- 3 years of experience in the same field.
- Broad range of experience gained across software delivery (Testing, Business Analysis, Development, Project Management).
- Broad range of experience in different product development methodologies e.g Scrum, Kanban, XP.
- Customer orientated, with excellent communication style, and able to work with multiple interests across the organization.
- Good general understanding of the role of product managers, product designers, engineers, quality assurance, DevOps and product marketers.
- A dynamic personality able to actively engage and influence a variety of audiences and stakeholders.
- Detailed understanding of resource management practices, processes and ways of working in a Professional Services environment.
- Able to stimulate trust and confidence.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
